In the age of influencers and social media, more and more people are trying to smash into the digital world. The winning weapon for success is to create a website with clear goals and SEO oriented. Wix and WordPress are two of the major platforms for building your own blog, website or online store. In order to understand which is best to use, let's examine the pros and cons of using either one or the other.

Wix: an easy-way to share your personality
Wix is an Israeli platform founded in 2006 that offers both free and paid services. It currently has an estimated 240 million users worldwide.
If you are a person without any programming experience, Wix is for you: all you need is a web browser and an internet access.
Pros:
Easy and intuitive use
SEO included
Multiplicity of design templates
Possibility to publish images and videos
Automatic weekly backups
Cons:
Information storage limit
Using WIX for free, it is not possible to have access to visitor analysis
In the SEO section it becomes very slow and it might block
Wordpress: a solid foundation to create everything you imagine
In 2003, the collaboration between Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little gave rise to a content management system named WordPress.
Automattic, Mullenweg’s company, had developed WordPress.com and WordPress.org, which are not the same thing.
1. WordPress.com
It is an online platform that allows the creator to directly manage his website or blog.
The hosting service offers six different price plans: the free one is very limited because
Inevitably it posts adv on free websites and the creator doesn’t get any profit
It is not allowed to sell advertisements
If it seems that your website violates the guidelines, it is going to be deleted
It is not possible to install any tracking platform
Only designs that are already on WordPress can be used.
2. WordPress.org
It is an open-source software, which means that anyone is able to modify or improve it. The 43% of the web uses WordPress.
To start employing it, you need to follow these 3 steps:
Register for a web hosting service
Purchase a domain
Install the software
As you can already imagine, it is more complicated to use: let’s see the pros and cons
Pros:
Customizable designs
Manageable everywhere
SEO is included for free
Cons:
The user is responsible for backups, security and updates
Buying of hosting, premium designs and plugin
Pay attention to plugin clashes: it may damage the website
It is necessary to have a solid technical knowledge foundation.
Wix or WordPress: Which one should I use?

The choice whether to use Wix or WordPress depends on the necessity and experience of the person.
From personal experience, Wix is very convenient and clear: you don’t need to have studied programming to make the most of it. An expert will probably feel more comfortable working with WordPress.
